You Did What?!

Let me set the scene...

Chad had just left for a trip into town to buy a few groceries, I am trying to start a fire in the wood burning stove we have, Hayden is getting fussy on the floor(nap time), and I hear Madison start to cry. Oh brother, what now! The last time I checked on her (just a few minutes ago) she was sitting making Christmas ornaments with melting beads. I leave my fire making post and go to meet her in the hallway. After asking what was wrong, Madison precedes to tell me that she. here goes, stuck one of the melting beads up her nose and can not get it out. "You did what!" was my first comment. Next came the flashlight, no luck can't see a thing. Then, came a phone call to Chad to get him to come home in case we have to go to the doctor to get it out. Also a phone call to my mom for suggestions. Try making her sneeze and just take her in was all the help I got. Great! It is the day before the family Christmas party, a few hours before the in-laws come in, and 1 hour before leaving time for dance. Well, after an attempt with sniffing pepper and 6 good blows out of one nostril out it came. Madison and I were both very excited to have it fly out of her nose.
I guess use this as a warning. Even though the age is 4+ on a craft don't leave it to your five year old to behave. She said she did it because Hayden told her to. Does she not understand that he is only 5 months old.

What a day!

The Big Show

It is that time of year for Madison to start working on her dances for recital. The theme this year is another wonderful disney movie and one of Madison's favorites.
Mary Poppins
We are all very excited about this. I think that the best part for Madison is that Hannah (cousin and Madison's idol) gets to play Mary Poppins in one of the shows. Her tap dance is "a song about diamonds" with red costumes. We can not wait until the big show in June!

Ladies Night Out

Well I have now heard it all, out of the mouth of Madison. Let me just say for the record that I love her dearly and I do not know what I would do without her!

Okay, here comes the story...
About once a month my mom picks up Madison and my cousin Kaylee for a dinner date. This is a time for Madison to get out of the house and to get some one on one time with someone, something that she does not get at home too much. Well this time Hayden and I were invited. I was very excited to go to dinner and have some adult contact (besides Chad). Before I could even get out of the door Madison had a comment for me. "I don't mind if you go, but don't do anything silly!" Unbelievable my five year old is already worried that mom will do something to upset her. Let me just inform you all, I am going to save all the "silly things" for when she reaches high school. :) Don't worry everything went smooth and we all had a wonderful evening!!!!

Watch Him Grow!

Okay so twice in one day, what an over achiever I am. Not really, I think that I just feel a little guilty for not posting in a long time.

Wow, time flies. Here is the latest picture of little Hayden. He is changing so much. He now seems to really focus on people and things. He is even starting to coo and smile. He likes to lay on the floor and watch his farm activity center.

Until next time (don't worry not again today)!

He Is Here

I know that it has been a really long time since my last post, but a lot has been happening. First thing first, he is here. We have waited a long time for this beautiful baby to arrive and the day finally arrived. Hayden joined our family on July 11th at 5:03 p.m. We think he is wonderful (Madison does too as long as he is not crying). He looks so much like his big sister, they even have the same birthmarks.

Next came my career change! This was a very hard decision for me. I loved my job and the people that I worked with, but I had a chance to stay at home with my children. I decided to start babysitting in my home. I am finding out that my new career choice has its challenges (did you know that a child's play stroller can hold a 7 year old boy so that he can take pictures down off your wall) it is a blessing and I really enjoy it.

And finally the last big change is school. Madison made the big step this year into kindergarten. Yes, I did say that my little girl is now a big girl. This was a hard day for mom. She loves school and seems to be doing well (no notes from the teacher yet). The only trouble is that my sweet little girl is "Moody Moose" when she comes off of the bus. Usually she is skipping from the bus with the world's biggest smile and then she hits the front door and look out! We are attributing this wonderful attitude to the fact that instead of eating her lunch at school she likes to play paper, rock, scissors. What a good use of time!

Well these are the adventures that have been running my life for the last few months. I hope you are all doing well and I WILL post again soon.

One Proud Mommy

We Made It!! Last night was the first dance recital. Much to mommy's surprise she did wonderful! I think that I was more nervous for her than she was. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (her tap) was the better of the two most of the guests had said. Bambi ice princess (her ballet) did go well, but she did not know it as well. All of Maddie's friends did a wonderful job! I think that Maddie was so proud of herself and couldn't believe that it was over. She also enjoyed all the attention from her fans after the show and the medal that Miss Pam gave the students was a big hit too. We also can not forget the roses from Grandma and the daisies from daddy. Now we sadly hang up the dancing shoes until September!
This has been a busy and interesting week for us. I finished the school year yesterday, finally. This week we also had the big 5th birthday and first dance recital (as talked about above). I think that we will now have some time to rest before the new bundle of joy arrives. Although this week seemed like a whirlwind I would have not changed or missed one moment of it for anything.

Did You Count That!

It has been just over a week since I have been checking my blood 4 times a day. I did not know that your fingers could handle being poked that much. Thank God that my counts have been REALLY good. It is just hard making sure that you do not go over your carb. count for each meal. I did not know that carbs. could add up so fast.

I did go to the doctor on Tuesday. As I stepped on the dreaded scale I noticed that the weight went down 3 pounds from 2 weeks earlier. Mark it down, this is probably the first and last time that I will have actually lost weight while being pregnant!!!! The doctor was not concerned and said that this usually happened when pregnant mothers go on the gestational diabetes diet. He also said that he will probably induce Hayden at 39 weeks. Oh my goodness, this is only 7 weeks away!!

The recital count down is at 2 weeks(one more practice)! The new tap shoes we ordered four weeks ago finally came in this week. This was a glorious thing for a little girl who has been squeezing her foot into shoes that were too small. Maddie is so excited about the recital, let's just hope that the excitement does not fade as the stage comes into sight.

I suppose that I should wrap this up for now. There are flowers to plant and dishes to do.
